The creation of MOVU: A moving revolution

In May 2014, Laurent Decrue, Nenad Nikolic, and Nicolas Bürer founded MOVU with a clear vision: to revolutionize the moving market in Switzerland. Their innovative concept? To offer an online comparison platform providing moving and handover cleaning quotes, thereby bringing unprecedented transparency to moving service prices.

The initial challenge was twofold: convincing clients to adopt the MOVU platform and persuading moving and cleaning companies to see us as a trustworthy intermediary. To achieve this, MOVU developed an innovative platform allowing users to quickly compare online quotes from carefully selected companies in their region. By directly connecting clients with companies, MOVU established itself as an effective and trustworthy intermediary.

Expansion and innovation: Exponential growth

MOVU quickly met the growing needs of consumers and moving companies. In 2016, we expanded our presence in Romandy, followed by the opening of an English-speaking department to serve international clients in Switzerland.

Thanks to strategic investments, MOVU continued to innovate. In 2017, our acquisition by Baloise marked a turning point, enabling us to enhance our offerings with comprehensive moving insurance and full customer support, from quote request to settling into their new home. The promise of a “stress-free move,” made possible through the adept use of the latest technologies, earned MOVU the prestigious Golden Headset Award in 2017.

In 2018, with the departure of the founders, MOVU took a new direction by optimizing its platform to offer moves from Switzerland to all of Europe, thus expanding our reach and impact.

Our vision for the future: Unshakeable stability

Today, MOVU is on a trajectory of stability and growth. With a solid business model, we successfully navigated the COVID-19 pandemic and are now addressing a tense Swiss real estate market.
Our strategic partnerships, particularly with Baloise, Immoscout, and Homegate, along with our advanced technology, secure our place in the market. Each month, approximately 3,000 clients request quotes on MOVU. Since the company’s inception, 65,000 quote requests have been processed on our platform. Our stable and reliable partner companies allow us to meet this demand effectively through BIXIN, our CRM for moving partners.
